Night Market at Chophouse Row
From this ever-evolving alcove on Capitol Hill—notably Bruce and Sara Nafatly’s Marmite moving into the former Chop Shop space—comes more newness. Beginning this Wednesday evening, Chophouse Row will host a weekly courtyard-wide farmers market from 4 to 8; it will run all year long, rain or shine...which in this case means mostly rain. Steward of a farm himself Matt Dillon of Upper Bar Ferdinand, one of Seattle Met’s 100 Very Best Restaurants, will organize and curate seasonal produce and farm fresh products, like hand-formed bread from The London Plane. Night Market will also have guest stalls alongside Chophouse Row tenants like Kurt Farm Shop. In need of a nightcap? Upper Bar Ferdinand co-owner and sommelier Marc Papineau will host a post-market wine tasting.

On The Boards Studio Supper with Jack’s BBQ
Jack Timmons of his eponymous barbecue joint will create a pre-show dinner to sustain you through the opening night of Ezra Dicksinson’s Psychic Radio Star. Jack’s BBQ—whoa, another of our latest 100 Very Best Restaurants—is a haven of smoked brisket and Texas-style ‘cue, and you can pretty much bet Timmons will have some slow-smoked goodness on the menu. Pay on a sliding scale of $25 to $100 for a seat at the table, reserve your spot, and be sure to arrive by 6 for drinks; dinner starts at 6:30.

Rare and Well Done: The Ultimate Whiskey Experience
Drinking whiskey is especially fitting come fall, when the sky grows darker every day like your soul. So why not cope with this pending reality with damn good whiskey? Do so at the Bravern in Bellevue this Saturday evening. John Howie Steak is again hosting Rare and Well Done, an event dedicated to over 150 domestic and internaltion whiskies, plus “fine bites” to go along with swills of golden brown spirits. There will be fois gras torchon, crab-stuff muchrooms, bacon tempura, and grilled sirloin—and more food fit for whiskey sipping. Tickets are $200 ($500 for VIP exclusives like early admission, hard-to-find whiskies, and a sign bottle of chef Howie’s single barrel bourbon).

Dine Around Seattle
Ah yes, it’s that time again for prix fixe lunches and dinners at over 45 locally owned restaurants across the Seattle area. This round of Dine Around Seattle, running November 6–23 Sunday through Thursday, restaurants will have lunch for $22, and dinner for $22, $33, or $44 depending on location and format: perhaps two small plates and a cocktail are called for rather than the classic three-course standard. You can game plan at the Dine Around Seattle website. And the feel-good bonus: For every reservation made online a donation will go to the Rainier Valley Food Bank, which serves thousands of hungry families each month.

Morning Star Brunch Popup
Chef Tarik Abdullah is at it again with his twice monthly Morning Star brunch popup in Columbia City’s Royal Room. Abdullah, who’s done everything from running kids cooking classes to hosting a Vice Munchies series on Seattle eats, clearly has passion to “feed the people” Mediterranean- and North African–influenced food. This Sunday that means: housemade biscuits with Syrian za’atar lamb gravy, cardamom pancakes with an Asian pear compote, gluten-free zucchini bread with chamomile-rose glaze, and more dishes, none of which are over $12. Reservation Alert: Brothers and Co. Ramen Popup
Nothing makes me crave a hot bowl of ramen more than getting miserably soaked in Seattle rain. Should you be rain-drenched, or just hungry, see yourself to this upcoming ramen popup on November 10 at Zoe Events on Capitol Hill (yes, formerly Scott Staples’s Restaurant Zoe). Chefs Seth and Zachary Pacleb, sibling behind the aptly named Brothers and Co., have collectively worked in the kitchens of Canlis, Crush (RIP), Quinn’s, The London Plane, and more. And next week they’ll be back in the Zoe kitchen to deliver bowl after bowl of ramen with homemade noodles and a slew of fresh toppings. A la carte? Yes Kids welcome? Yes. Tunes via deejay? Yes. Will there be a full bar? Uh, definitely yes. No reservations or tickets actually required, it’s first come, first served.
