Patagonia Opens Flagship Store in Ballard
Blink and you truly might have missed this shop's grand opening last weekend. After a slight delay, Patagonia opened on Ballard Avenue on August 19. The new flagship store is a home base for the brand's Workwear line, a collection of sturdy staples that don't quit. Plus, it houses Patagonia Provisions, its food and drink spinoff that lauds a more sustainable food system through its products—they're not messing around; there's even a documentary about it.

That was in 2003. These days, Ingrid and Isabel has everything from activewear to dresses to nursing necessities. Shop the trunk show at Village Maternity and receive 20 percent new fall goods.

Fashion First Preview
Sway and Cake, which has been resurrected by owner and stylist Tamara Kilburn, is now located on Capitol Hill. It relocated and reopened after Kilburn shuttered her Belltown shop at the end of 2013. These days though, her studio is brimming with new finds, from Jenny Bird jewelry to sassy desk fodder to felt hats and slinky dresses. Stop by Sway and Cake from 5–8 for the Fashion First Countdown happy hour. Fashion First is Seattle's longest running independent runway show, helmed by the singular Joan Kelly. To celebrate both the show and Kelly's birthday, receive 10 percent off your purchase during the event.
