Five New Seattle Stores
Turns out, not everyone is moving to Seattle just for a gig at Amazon. A fresh lineup of boutiques have opened their doors over the past month or so, adding to the city's already vibrant shopping scene. Get to know our new neighbors below, and don't forget the recently relocated like Velouria and Clementine (both moved to Pioneer Square), and the newly minted Evereve in U Village (formerly Hot Mama).

New York–based 8telier opened in Pacific Place late last month, bringing its lineup of basic, modern womenswear made from textural performance fabrics (all machine washable!) and curated collection of accessories. Owner Jean Glover designs her pieces—which skew towards very Seattle-y greys, blacks, and whites—to be versatile and comfortable. Take, for example, the best-selling jackets which feature bendable wire inserts allowing you to shape the collar and adjust and style.

Inside Anchored Ship Coffee Bar (which happens to be a favorite stop of Diane von Furstenburg), Haute Hibou carries boho-chic women's clothing and accessories, plus a selection of shoes and gift items. There isn't a street-front sign yet, so just duck into the cafe, grab a latte, and start browsing.

Also in Ballard, Portland-based Sticks and Stones just moved its collection of handcrafted accessories into a tiny corner space off Ballard Ave, which will also serve as a rotating art gallery. The brand's rings, necklaces, tie clips, and other baubles are all made using reclaimed materials, often with a base of exotic wood accented by antlers, seashells, gemstones, etc. We predict you'll be seeing a lot of their double-finger rings around town any minute now. And word is that Macklemore just ordered a custom bolo tie.

BAIT x Brooks “Centennial” Chariot collaboration sneaker

Filling the Capitol Hill sneaker-store gap left by the closure of Goods and Rock Paper Scissors, Los Angeles shoe and apparel brad BAIT opened its storefront in the former Platinum Records space on Pike. The shop specializes in modern, urban sneakers and accompanying apparel. To celebrate the launch, BAIT teamed up with Seattle-based Brooks Running (which also just opened a cool new retail store, by the way) to collaborate on the "Centennial” Chariot shoe, celebrating Brooks' 100-year anniversary ($120, exclusively at BAIT).

At the bottom of the Harbor Steps, Blue Snow Montana specializes in one-of-a-kind Montana-made art, furniture, and other housewares. Pieces run from vintage to special order, but every item would find its place in a log cabin themed abode or a rustic modern bungalow. We're especially enamored with this handcrafted wooden coffee table.
