’80s Night Karaoke at Hula Hula: A Tribute To Prince
If you need to sing out some heartache over The Purple One’s untimely passing, please see yourself to this karaoke-loving tiki bar in Lower Queen Anne. Every Wednesday, Hula Hula hosts Rump Day, a night of ‘80s karaoke and 50 percent off rum, including local rums from Sun Liquor and more. This Wednesday though, Rump Day fittingly remembers Prince through song. The best Prince karaoke performance will receive a $100 gift certificate; dust off your best cropped, crushed velvet blazer.

Dining Out For Life
The annual Lifelong AIDS Alliance fundraising event is this Thursday. In its 20th year, over 100 Seattle area restaurants will participate in Dining Out For Life and donate 30 percent or more of their proceeds to Lifelong, a nonprofit that provides food, housing, and health care to a community that needs these essentials. Dine at restaurants such as Culture Club Cheese Bar, Harvest Beat, Bar del Corso, Lost Lake Cafe and Lounge, or see the full list of generous restaurants on the event website. And, last but not least, here is your friendly reminder to make reservations, folks.

Miller’s Guild Launches a Chef’s Counter Tasting Menu
Surely one of the most coveted seats in a restaurant is at the chef’s table, where diners can watch the chef create a unique and coursed meal for a lucky few. In this case, belly up to the new chef’s counter at Miller’s Guild, launching this Thursday. Chef Jason Wilson will craft a special six-course menu of dry-aged lamb tartar, roasted ramps with Alaskan halibut, dry-aged striploin with syrah bone marrow butter, and more available only at the counter Thursday through Saturday. The exclusive menu may of course change every few weeks or so and will be offered to ten people per day, so be sure to reserve your spot at the counter for $88 per person.

Independent Bookstore Day at Book Larder
Among Seattle’s erudite and fun indie bookshops, this cookbook and food-focused store in Fremont stands out with frequent cooking and baking classes, author signings, book talks, and more. This Saturday, Book Larder will host a full day of events from 11 to 5 on Independent Bookstore Day: Cynthia Nims, author of the recently published Oysters will be signing copies of her book as well as shucking the titular bivalve, chef John Sunstrom of Lark will be demonstrating a dish from Lark: Cooking Against the Grain, plus many more bites and book signings thorughout the day.

Taco Libre Truck Showdown
The taco format has been the foundation of creativity for many a mobile food truck in the past decade. Now, over 25 food trucks will show off their creations—however authentic or fusion leaning—in the Mobile Food Rodeo’s annual Taco Libre Truck Showdown that spans two blocks in Fremont this Sunday. The curbside fiesta will beckon summer with 40 trucks and booths in all, a sizable beer and margarita garden, mariachi bands, and other live music from 10 to 6.

Kasama Dinner at Kraken Congee
The first in a series of popups at this subterranean restaurant in Pioneer Square launches this Monday with a Filipino-Italian menu. For the inaugural Kasama Dinner, chef Garrett Doherty of Kraken Congee is collaborating with chef Melissa Miranda, who is currently the chef at Cuoco in South Lake Union and has her own popup called Il Vizietto. The six-course menu includes dishes like pork sisig with sweet potato gnocchi, jack fruit sorbet, octopus terrine, and pandan tiramisu. There are two evening seatings: 6:30 and 8:30; tickets are $55.
