If last year's Mother's Day meal consisted of burnt pancakes and charred bacon, why not say thank you by taking your nearest and dearest out for brunch instead this year. Here's a sampling of a few select midmorning menus happening Sunday May 10. No fire extinguisher neccessary.

Cafe Flora
Three-course vegetarian and vegan menu includes tropical berry salad, bergamot cardamom beignets, Spanish tortilla, and rhubarb pistachio entremets ($35)

Ray’s Boathouse and Cafe
Buffet of brioche french toast, fennel mushroom hash, fennel-dusted ling cod, bay shrimp mac and cheese, Penn Cove manila clams, and more ($45)

Bell and Whete
Warm asparagus and Dungeness crab salad with slow poached egg, hollandaise, and grapefruit, lemon ricotta crepes, and mimosa flight (prices vary)

Oddfellows Cafe and Bar
Servers will be on hand to capture the special day with a Polaroid camera. Fresh-cut flowers will also be given to every mom.

Local 360
Specials include strawberry rhubarb waffles, baked duck eggs, and a rosé flight (prices vary)

Metropolitan Grill
Grilled Snake River Farms hanger steak and eggs, chicken fried steak and eggs, Joe's scramble, brioche french toast, Metropolitan Grill benedict ($28)

To celebrate the opening of its beer garden, mothers can enjoy grilled fresh Northwest oysters for $2 a piece and will receive $1 off pints.

Hotcakes with maple syrup and whipped butter, lox and bagel with salmon and capers, biscuits and Uli’s sausage gravy, blood orange mimosa (prices vary)

Three-course organic brunch menu includes coffee-roasted celery root salad, cheddar biscuits and smoked chicken gravy, and housemade sourdough waffles ($30).
