Nakamura, a former chef de cuisine at the Herbfarm, will tender similar vittles to last year, including 12-14 flavors of ice cream from Lopez Island Creamery. (FYI: Order a scoop from June to August and a portion of the sale benefits the island’s Farm to Cafeteria program.) Nakamura also plans to “expand the food line” to include more grab-and-go items. She mentioned salads and eventually tamales. Other desserts you might encounter include ice cream sundaes and chocolate-dipped frozen bananas.
As Nakamura astutely pointed out, it feels more like January than March these days, so hours will be limited for the time being: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 11–5. Come May they will expand.
