Timbrrr! Winter Music Festival Announces Its 2020 Lineup

Timbrrr! Winter Music Festival, the winter twin to summer's Timber!, dropped its lineup for January 24 and 25, 2020. It is—as usual—short but rich with talent. Pedro the Lion, the beloved 1990s moniker that singer David Bazan revived recently, headlines after releasing the excellent Phoenix earlier this year. Next up are Sub Pop grunge revivalists Bully, Lisa Prank (now playing with a band!), and local folk pop crew Ivan and Alyosha. Further down the poster are two of my favorite live Seattle bands I've seen this year: Bear Axe keeps alive the tradition of tight, thundering 1970s hard rock, then inflects it with funk and soul. Actionesse is a hardcore party punk band with a stampeding horn section.
Aside from that, Timbrrr offers its usual array of Leavenworthian culture: a hot toddy garden, free snowshoeing trips, "leisure games" (skee ball, giant Jenga, etc.), and there'll be some sausages somewhere. Passes are currently on sale for $75 for the whole weekend or $45 for a single day.
