The news of the closure of Licorous left many wondering what that spells for the bar’s popular Monday dinner series, Shophouse. Wiley Frank, sous chef at Lark and Shophouse operator, gets in touch to say the final popup in the space will take place this coming Monday, June 27, the same night Licorous will pour its last drink.
“Our Monday night dinners at Licorous were always spontaneous and it is a welcome miracle that it has been a 35-week crescendo,” said Frank. “The owners of Lark and Licorous were very kind to let PK [ ed note: that’s Frank’s wife ] and I do this little adventure which allowed us to see the potential of this style of Thai cuisine in Seattle.”
Frank added that the couple will continue to operate their stall at Columbia City Farmer’s Market, where they “are creating a whole new following.” You can also catch Frank grilling at Kirkland UnCorked on July 16.
And what about future popups? “PK and I are planning on stepping back for a couple seconds to weigh our options, whether it be more spontaneity or something more permanent. Everything happens for a reason.”
Frank says the June 27 menu will be posted on the Shophouse website Friday.
