Graduation = Dinner on Mom and Dad

Here’s your chance to splurge, kiddos. Choose wisely.

Indeed.

Congrats, college grads! You made it through four (maybe five or six?) years of papers, professors, and pesky roommates. For that, consider this weekend yours and yours alone. Do keg stands and beer bongs without wondering what Grammy, bless her soul, would think. Sleep until 1pm and don’t feel guilty about it. When mom and dad offer to take you out to celebrate, order top shelf, yes, get the appetizer, and do consider the dessert menu. Like I said, it’s your weekend.

Now, when you take the parentals up on their offer, you won’t want to choose any ho-hum place. Consider the options.

There are the unabashedly spendy spots: Crush, Harvest Vine, Daniel’s Broiler in Leschi. The neighborhood joints: Café Lago, Nishino, Sostanza Trattoria. And the newbies sure to impress: Thierry Rautureau’s Luc in Madison Valley, the family-style Sitka and Spruce, Madrona’s precious June.

Go forth, eat, and remember, the world is your oyster.
