Less formal than Portage, more formal than the late Pig 'n' Whistle—June, efflorescent in spring greens and still lifes, is owner Vuong Loc's "just right." The classically trained Loc still brings more Continental technique than one expects to find in a neighborhood restaurant—albacore with huckleberry-chile gastrique, grilled côte de boeuf for two—and his enthusiastic embrace of nose-to-tail dining (beef tongue sliders, braised lamb neck, and one dish featuring a rabbit in its entirety) won't be for everyone. But the operation's shot through with a casual streak, which brings weekend brunches and weekday happy hours and one overwhelming burger (brioche, taleggio cheese, bacon steak, and a housemade ketchup of the day, like beet) to the party. Execution can be hit or miss.
