No line, no shoes, no problem.

Obsessively adored pizza shop Moto emailed customers today, just in time for the hungry lunch crowds, announcing that as of right this very second, they offer delivery.

When Lee Kindell first started serving his Filipino-meets-Detroit-style pizza from a West Seattle cottage in early 2021, customers placed orders months in advance. As Moto expanded to its current three locations (plus an outlet in T-Mobile Park during Mariners games) the wait got shorter. Now, you don’t even need to put on pants to get your hands on the crunchy-crust sourdough slices.

Moto’s creative thinking, like putting lechon kawali (Filipino fried pork belly) on the Mr. Pig, and transforming a crab roll from sandwich to topping for the Crab! earned the shop a rabid fandom, which is likely to only expand as it gets even easier to order the thick, square pies.

After more than three years, Kindell finally felt that his shops had scaled up enough that they could handle the added volume of delivery orders. To start, the pizzas are delivered through a third-party service called Olo, but Kindell plans to soon field his own fleet of decked-out mini-Fiats and electric bikes to figure out the most efficient and best way to get the pizza to the people. "We want to bring some of the old-school service back to the game," he says. Using his own drivers will mean sending them with pouches of sauces and other extras to offer customers.

Kindell is excited to find a new way to connect with customers (and even plans to drop the occasional pie himself), and says he knows that a lot of people don't even realize the lines have finally gone down enough to allow for same-day and even walk-in orders.

As he braces to make even more pizzas, Kindell's already looking further into the future: next month, the Bellevue Square location opens. Next year, Moto plans to debut a drive-through and is signed on as a beta tester of Zipline's drone delivery service.
