This coming Tuesday March, 14 marks the celebration of Pi Day, an observance of the irrational constant that matches the date, but also a celebration of pizza and baked goods. These local businesses have their own (mildly) irrational ways of celebrating:

A la Mode Pies

Now with two locations in West Seattle and Phinney Ridge, the ardently pie-centric cafe will host a pie-eating competition for a chance to win a private piemaking class for 10 people. Juxtapose with your slice with some Caffe Umbria coffee and drop your email address for a chance to up your baking game.

Big Mario’s

Capitol Hill and Queen Anne's destination for late-night, booze-soaking sustenance will sell slices for $3.14 throughout the day, helping keep the savory pie realm well represented.

Lost Lake Cafe

The Twin Peaks–esque, all-night diner on Capitol Hill will run its second annual pie eating contest, where employees from neighborhood businesses will gorge themselves for charity. Slices from A la Mode Pies will be available for the topical price of $3.14.

Pagliacci Pizza

Back by popular demand, get the pizzeria's Pi Day special (any 2 slices for $3.14) at all of their slice bar locations.

Paxti's Pizza

The deep-dish pizza shop in Ballard is taking $5 off all large pie orders today (with code PIDAY5). 

Pie

Regarded for its savory pies (Anglophiles unite!) this tiny Fremont spot prides itself on providing handmade pies for every meal and occasion. On March 14, Pie will supply pi-themed pies and offer a special deal—a trio of mini pies for, you guessed it, $3.14.
