Chococurb Chocolate and Wine Festival
Two favorite vices paired under one roof. Chococurb, a chocolates subscription delivered monthly into your chocoholic hands, will have a decadent lineup of sweets from some of Seattle’s talented chocolatiers. Expect tastes from the likes of Jcoco, Fran’s Chocolates, Theo’s Chocolates, Dolcetta Artisan Sweets, and more all paired with Argentinian wine. The chocolate and wine festival all goes down at Vude in South Lake Union from 5:30 to 8:30; tickets are $15.

Shrimpfest in Hood Canal
Pull up those waders and head to Hood Canal for a seafood-filled Memorial Day weekend. Just north of Brinnon, you’ll find a festival dedicated to the short yet sweet spot shrimp season as well as other lcoal seafood. The quaint Shrimpfest features the requisite craft and food booths, activities for the kiddos, live thigh-thumping music, and belt sander races (totally a real thing!). And for those with a shellfishing license, you can dig for your own clams and oysters (probably best enjoyed perched atop some driftwood with a dry rose or Rainier in hand). Admission is $5 per day.

Pig Roast at Tin Dog Brewing
This nanobrewery in Seattle’s South Park neighborhood is going whole hog this Sunday. As the Tin Dog Brewing event page succinctly explains, “We are having a pig roast. We provide the pig. You buy the beer.” So, from 2 to 4 drink the beer: Try some of the many Belgian-style beers brewed here such as a semi-spicy farmhouse-style saison, a flavorful wit, and a sessionable white IPA.

Free Burgers at Li’l Woody’s
In honor of National Burger Month—which, yep, is May if you’re wondering—Li’l Woody’s is giving out free burgers again this year. From 2 to 5 on Memorial Day, both Ballard and Capitol Hill locations will be doling out the delicious free burgers, but be cool: one burger per person, no substitutions for other sandwiches, and extra toppings will still cost extra monies.
Vendemmia Turns One
While chef Brian Clenvenger’s Madrona restaurant officially made a full revolution ‘round the sun on May 22, it’s partying this Memorial day. Instead of dinner service this evening, look forward to a whole roasted suckling pig (can May actually be national pig roast month?) plus plenty of oysters. The festivities at Vendemmia run from 2 to 7.

Also celebrating a birthday is the Ravenna restaurant helmed by one of Food and Wine’s Best New Chefs 2016, Edouardo Jordan. The night will focus on a four-course dinner from 5 to 9 accompanied by a tap takeover from Holy Mountain Brewing. Dinner is $65 per person; reserve your spot soon.
