Olympia Provisions at Book Larder
Elias Cairo, founder of the Portland salulmeria, will be discussing his new cookbook while sharing slices of charcuterie and cured meat wisdom at Book Larder on November 4. To attend the free talk RSVP here, signed books will be available for purchase.

Oysters and Wine at Bottlehouse
The Madrona wine bar will team up with Hama Hama Oysters to host a perfectly paired evening of oysters and Loire wine tastings, to the tune of live Brazilian jazz.  Tickets are $24.98 and include wine tasting and half a dozen oysters.

Cocktail Party for FEEST
Atrium Kitchen is hosting a benefit party for FEEST, a youth-led program that provides a space to draw the parallels between race, class, and food access, from 7:30 pm­– 10pm.  Poet Roberto Ascalon will host, with a cooking demo from chef Tarik Abdullah (Anthony Bourdain- and Kanye-approved) and music by Vitamin D. Tickets are $75.

John Howie Steak Whiskey Experience
John Howie Steak will host a whiskey tasting at Bellevue's Bravern event space, dedicated to more than 100 international whiskies  from  distillers including Buffalo Trace, Michter’s, Blood Oath and more. The  “Rare and Well Done” event will pair the vast drink menu with dishes like smoked salmon bisque, American waygu beef, pork tenderloin with black cherry bourbon jam, etc. For $180 attendees will receive a Glencairn keepsake tasting glass, a cigar from San Juan Cigar Co., and a chance to win a Maserati for a weekend.

Artisanal Mescal Class
Capitol Hill’s Mezcaleria Oaxaca  is hosting another hands on mescal class on November 9.  Instructor Spencer Lane will demonstrate different techniques–from wood fire to steaming–on distilling the native Mexican plant. Tickets for the 20-person class are $20 and you’ll be able to sample 4 different drinks along side prepared snacks. To reserve a seat contact [email protected].

Holiday Cookie Decorating at Geraldine's Counter
Christmas is just around the corner. And for Geraldine’s Counter, it's  already time for the eighth annual holiday cookie decorating party.  Along with serving $5 glasses of wine and a chance to win raffle prizes like designer aprons, all proceeds from the party will support Rainier Valley Food Bank. Tickets are $25 and cover a mac and cheese dinner plus cookies to decorate (and bring home).
