In the latest chapter of Paseo's Shakespearean saga, Eater Seattle says two sons of Paseo founder Lorenzo Lorenzo have opened a restaurant in the former Lunchbox Laboratory/Burger Hero address in Ballard (7302 15th Ave NW). The upshot: Lorenzo family recipes and, unlike Paseo, you can pay with a credit card.
Byrek and Baguette
Albanian chef Natalie Gjekmarkaj opened a Capitol Hill outpost of her Bellevue Mediterranean eatery last week, per Capitol Hill Seattle. Choose from traditional sweet or savory byrek (or spanakopita) pastries filled with apples, walnuts, and caramel sauce or leek, egg, and feta cheese with yogurt sauce, as well as baguette sandwiches and coffee.
Sibling businesses Two Beers Brewing and Seattle Cider Company have a new joint tasting room opening Saturday, June 13 at 1pm. Naturally the new 2,800-square-foot space is next to Two Beers' SoDo headquarters; it will have 99 seats and 24 beers on tap, plus games like pool, darts, and foosball. Come fall, it will launch an in-house kitchen operated by Bread and Circuses, a promising newcomer in the city's food truck scene. The Woods will be open Tuesday through Thursday from 3 to 9pm, Friday from 3 to 10pm, Saturday from 1 to 10pm, and Sunday from 1 to 6pm.
The Lodge Sports Grille at West Seattle
The local and family-owned sports bar will open in its seventh location in a new West Seattle apartment complex, Junction 47, between California Avenue and Alaska Street on 42nd, reports the West Seattle Blog. Look for it this fall.
The Growl Store
Further evidence of Seattle's love for growler filling: A carryout tap shop will open in the Citizen Apartments building on Capitol Hill this fall per Capitol Hill Seattle. Although you can't order beer by the pint, you can take home home 64 ounces of various beers, all brewed within 100 miles of here.
Adding to our list of new (and revamped) patios is Heathman Hotel's restaurant in Kirkland. In celebrating warmer weather, the restaurant will launch a "front porch" opening on Thursday, June 18 and Friday, June 19 from 5 to 8pm, featuring live music, cocktails and farm fresh cuisine.
