Wouldn’t you love to see your dish served here?

Amateur cooks, listen up: Osteria La Spiga wants to see what magic you can wrest from six springtime ingredients.

Whip up an original (or adapted) Italian recipe using six or fewer springtime ingredients (excluding oils, vinegars, seasonings, or garnishes) and submit it to the charming Capitol Hill restaurant by a week from today, March 22. Owners Sabrina Tinsley and Pietro Borghesi will judge your creation
on originality, flavor combinations, how well it represents authentic Italian cuisine, and its scalability for restaurant service. To be considered, all recipes must include the inspiration and source – especially if the recipe is adapted from a cookbook.

The winning dish, announced March 31, will appear on La Spiga’s spring menu, and award its creator/s dinner for two from the tasting menu with wine pairings. No professionals, please.
