Who knew Seattle had a group of artisan hatmakers? This weekend, the aptly called Millinery Artisan Guild will be gathering at Beppa Studio to celebrate Any Day Hats, a trunk show put together by some of the city’s best milliners, including Izzie Lewis, Annie DeVuono, Carol Campbell, Jean Hicks, Laura Clampitt, Michale Crooks, and Heather Daveno.  It all begins on Friday, June 3 from 4-8pm for a Gala Preview and continues on Saturday, June 4 from 10am-5pm, with admission open to the public for the cost of a freebie ticket.

We asked Heather Daveno, hatmaker behind August Phoenix, what did they want visitors to take away from the event? That "Seattle can and should, rival Chicago and NYC as a fashion capitol," she replied. The group wants attendees and passerby alike to rethink hats—the accessory is an essential wardrobe element and "any day is a good day to wear a hat." We think David Bowie would probably agree, and that's good enough for us.
