October is the much-anticipated month of the pumpkin spice lattes and jack-o'-lanterns galore. But more importantly, and less noted, October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, one in three women (and one in four men) have been victims of physical violence within their lifetime. Runway to Freedom is committed to raising awareness of domestic violence and ensuring safety for survivors of abuse.

On November 19, Runway to Freedom hosts its sixth annual fashion show, concert, and auction fundraiser to benefit survivors of domestic violence. This event brings together Northwest musicians, designers, and even a surprise celebrity! Last year, the meet-and-greet was hosted by none other than Macklemore.

The Voice contestant and Seattle native Kimberly Nichole takes the stage at Herban Feast Sodo Park, along with musical guests Jairemie Alexander and Draze. For the main event, look forward to enjoying the work of featured designers House of Gina Marie, Justin Zachary Bartle, Julie Danforth, and Zulily.

All donations and proceeds from the event benefit Mary’s Place, a local nonprofit that provides food, shelter, and counseling to homeless women and children.

Purchase tickets online for the concert and auction (general admission: $100; VIP $350 or $500). VIP doors will open at 6:00 and 7:00 for general admission ticket holders.
