'Tis the Season

Three More Holiday Popup Shops

We're about ready to dub 2014 the Year of the Popup.

By Amanda Zurita December 5, 2014

Surely you aren't shopped out after the five-plus popups going on this week? Keep that retail spirit going with the American Express Shop Small Holiday Mall and the Canal Market in Portage Bay (both ongoing through Christmas Eve), plus the three new popups below.

Little Green House

Shop brand new porcelain goods from Farfor (formerly Far 4) and other dearly beloved makers.

WHERE: An actual little green house at 5341 Ballard Ave NW

This is a good one, folks. Ballard-based favorites and other around-town makers gather for a month-long popup on Ballard Ave. Find gentlemanly goods from Blackbird, badass vintage wares from Tyranny and Mutation, porcelain pieces and gifts from Farfor (formerly Far 4, that off-color, just-closed boutique), leather goods from Jonquil and Mr. BlackNest | Gather/Chloe Touran's much-loved art objects, and stylish housewares from Composition Home. Plus more!

Some vendors rotate throughout the month so check the schedule on the Facebook event page (or just pop in each week to see what's new).

WHEN: Shop the popup through December 31 on weekdays from 11 to 8 and weekends from 10 to 8.

BadWill Market

WHERE: The Rhino Room

Gift shopping and drinking and cookies and Mexican brunch? Count us in. This Cap Hill popup brings together vintage vendors like Gidgette Bardot, Deja Vintage Boutique, and Lucky Vintage alongside other shops and designers including Outside is the World by Lena Joy Whittle, Moksha, Madeline Chadwick handbags, and many more.

WHEN: Sunday, December 14 from noon to five. Entrance is free and limited to guests age 21 and up.

VUDE HOLIDAY POPUP SHOP

WHERE: The VUDE (Velvet Underground Dining Experience)

Even more local businesses gather in this South Lake Union basement space for a weekday popup with free lattes and light bites. Our picks: Seahawks style from SEA 206 clothing for the sports fan in your life; statement jewels from Portland-based Favery for that hard-to-shop for sister-in-law; and Bainbridge Beeswax Works candles for your mom.

Other vendors include Fitmob, Rivet and Cuff denim, and more.

WHEN: Monday and Tuesday December 8 and 9 from 11 to 2 and Wednesday, December 10 from 4 to 7.
