WHERE: The Pike/Pine Corridor on Capitol Hill. Find the crafts in Cal Anderson Park.

WHAT: Consider it a way to fill that hole in your August shopping calendar left by the the cancellation of the Antiques Rodeo. This year's Seattle Street Food Festival (put on by the folks behind the Mobile Food Truck Rodeo) features 50-plus food stands and, our favorite part, a parkful of independent crafters courtesy of the Urban Craft Uprising team.

It's like a more sophisticated state fair. Instead of deep-fried Twinkies and Vitamix blenders, you get wood-fired pizzas, Russian dumplings, and artisan donuts alongside locally made clothing, jewelry, and giftables.

Hand-printed greeting cards from Pike Street Press.

Crafters include Cairo (T-shirts and vintage), Tuesday Scarves, Pike Street Press (lovely paper goods), Gritty Jewelry (cleaver-shaped earrings), and over 30 more.

WHEN: All day on August 8 and 9. Admission is free.
