This Vashon Island property features more than six acres of relaxing spaces. And, yes, there's a tennis court.

Every inch of this six-and-a-half-acre property on the southern end of Vashon Island is built for serenity—and, perhaps, a commune. While the custom log-cabin-style home is the base of operations, the surrounding land is rich with thoughtful design that welcomes guests both indoors and out. Every element, right down to the tennis court, drives toward a woodsy, whimsical aesthetic.

The main house is elaborate before you even step inside. An impressively long front deck is made for lounging, with built-in benches on the rails and an overhang with skylights and lighting. Inside, an open living room has a partial cathedral ceiling with exposed log beams floating a story above. The dining area is open to an eclectic kitchen with both an antique stove and a modern gas cooktop and wall ovens. Pop upstairs for two bedrooms and a bathroom with a jetted tub. Throughout, details like stained glass add little touches of magic.

Go deeper into the property for a whole compound that makes the primary home seem like an afterthought. Head down a path that winds around dense patches of evergreen trees and find a bevy of carefully crafted spaces. Nearby, a round, brick patio includes built-in benches with a firepit at the center. It shares a small, wooded yard with a Scandinavian-style sauna and a small guest house. Across the property, another guest house provides more square footage and a small but full kitchen.

A network of stone-lined ponds encourages quiet contemplation with a gazebo, waterfalls, and a wooden bridge. Reaching partway over the water, a tidy, circular deck has seating, art, and planters. In another pocket of space, a starburst of raised beds surrounds a patio for gathering; next to it, a hybrid greenhouse and shelter includes covered porch space.

Way out back, a smaller complex is more built around recreation, with a tennis court cradled by a wood-lattice fence. Across a stone patio, a semi-open gathering space has a pool table and a lounge.

There’s a whole lot going on here, both in contents and vibe—and it’d be equally suited as a home for a large chosen family or a mindful vacation spot. It’s absolutely ready for some yoga or meditation retreats if you're into it.
