Springtime means light layers, cherry blossoms, and apparently more ice cream in south Seattle.

After opening its first shop on the eastside in downtown Redmond last April, Molly Moon's Homemade Ice Cream will expand in Seattle once again, this time in Columbia City.

The new scoop shop also aims for a springtime opening, which is timed well as Seattleites slowly emerge from their feather down jacket cocoons. This will be the southern-most Molly Moon's shop, located along Columbia City's historic thoroughfare at 4822 Rainier Ave South.

All ice cream will be made daily in the shop, and the forthcoming open kitchen design means you can see the Molly Moon culinary crew creating creamy desserts in real time!

It's still in construction mode, but once open this spring, hours will be noon to 11.
