In the Works
Floret
After 25 years of wowing vegetarians and vegans (not to mention plenty of omnivores) Cafe Flora is expanding...to the airport. A Sea-Tac spinoff will open next year, complete with a dining room lined with windows and filled with plants.
Beer Matters
Teku Tavern
The folks behind this high-tech new bottle shop and tavern on Denny sent word that opening day is Tuesday, October 18. Why is this exciting? Because Teku is packing 50 taps and a custom system that ensures each beer is poured (and carbonated) properly for its style, not to mention three cask stations and 29 coolers full of bottles and cans to retail. A live inventory list will be on the website.
The Growl Store
Capitol Hill Seattle blog says Madison's growler fill destination now pours by the pint as well.
Open
Harry's Fine Foods
The former corner market at Bellevue and Mercer is reborn as a trim little neighborhood cafe, says CHS, complete with vegetarian-pleasing plates and a white-tiled bar.
Hood Famous Bakeshop
Huzzah! The wizards behind that unforgettable ube cheesecake have a proper space in Ballard, says Eater Seattle.
Squirrel Chops
The Central District's newest third wave, third place coffee shop also happens to be a hair salon.
Expansion Mode
A La Mode Pies: West Seattle
The Phinney pie hangout has a new shop in the Junction, and its own line of pie-inspired ice cream flavors.
Collabs
Snoqualmie's Sun Liquor Eggnog Frozen Custard
Speaking of ice cream (or, technically, frozen custard) Sun Liquor's eggnog has been reimagined as a booze-free seasonal dessert from Snoqualmie Ice Cream. It's available by the pint starting next week.
