Do longline fishers come in long family lines? Hawaiian transplants (and brothers) Trinh, Bayley, and Michael Le grew up butchering and selling their family's commercial tuna catches, and they're bringing that experience to their new ID poke restaurant, GoPoke. Currently aiming for a late-July opening, the brothers hope to populate the adjacent Hing Hay Park with people tasting the authentic Hawaiian experience: from poke bowls to shaved ice. 

The tuna will come from the Le brothers' fishing boats in Hawaii, flown in fresh overnight. With a commitment to never-frozen fish, they'll source their salmon and octopus locally. "The only thing frozen is the shave ice," the brothers say. Though they're also bringing in other Hawaiian brands for their dessert selection, including (you heard it here first) Dole Whip, the pineapple soft serve that has long cooled and sweetened the days of Disneyland and Dole Plantation patrons. 

GoPoke will be located in a long-vacant historical building at 625 South King St. Hours and more info to come.
