Caffeine Alert: Pioneer Square Coffee Break
Though the average Seattleite needs no reason for an afternoon latte, the Downtown Seattle Association is offering a damn fine excuse anyway. This Thursday, the organization is hosting a free coffee tasting in Occidental Square from 11 to 1. This coffee break will have drip coffee, espresso, cold brew, and more from neighborhood cafes such as Grand Central Bakery, Caffe Umbria, Convoy Coffee, Slate Coffee Roasters, and more. So, sip on brew, get to know your local coffee purveyors, and (hopefully) get outside during an elusive Seattle sunbreak.

Tacocat Ice Cream Social and Album Release Party
Love fun feminist pop-punk music and locally created frozen treats? Then head to Capitol Hill for Tacocat’s Lost Time release party at Chop Suey. The Seattle band is kicking off their spring tour with an ice cream social featuring Choco-Tacocat, their frozen namesake from the folks at Bluebird Microcreamery, who, by the way, have a solid knack for musically-inspired ice cream flavors. The ice cream social starts at 5 for advance ticket holders only, while the album release party slash crimson wave surfing commences at 6.

Back to Back Popup: Kefi Taverna
After cheffing for two years in Greece, Western Washington native Tana Mielke is back and ready to serve up her take on modern Northwest-meets-Greek cuisine at the Essential Baking Company Cafe in Wallingford. Dubbed Kefi Taverna, the multi-course popup is designed to be shared and includes a dish of roasted octopus with fennel, beet, and pickled rhubarb, a duo of roasted pork loin and pork belly with red pepper feta spread, and melopita, a cow cheese custard with honey and roasted rhubarb. In the spirit of a family-style meal there will also be wines by the carafe and beer by the half liter. The popup is both Friday and Saturday and tickets are $60; it also has three seatings each evening at 7, 7:45, and 9. Chef Mielke plans on doing more popups April through June; you can stay up to date on the coming series at the Kefi Taverna website.

Rodeo Donut Turns One...
...and celebrates with a buy one, get one free brioche doughnut deal (ha, get it?). The small batch bakery has been popping up inside Ballard, Capitol Hill, and West Seattle Cupcake Royale cafes and churning out fluffy, freshly baked doughnuts. Flavors for Sunday’s birthday, which goes from 8am to 3pm, include huckleberry, strawberry buttermilk, peanut butter potato chip, blood orange and honey, ginger-sugared rhubarb, passion fruit with ghost pepper, and more. Bonus: Rodeo Donut will giveaway some sweet merch as well.

Ticket Alert: Cochon555 Late Night Asian Speakeasy
Somewhat convoluted event title aside, let’s dive right in, shall we? Next Friday, April 8 at 9pm, chef John Sundstrom is hosting Seattle chefs and Cochon555—a traveling pork feast that raises awareness for heritage breed pigs via, yes, a nose-to-tail cooking competition—at his amaro and crudo bar, Bitter/Raw. The evening’s event will pair specialty cocktails and punches, likely inspired by ‘20s era drinks, with Asian dishes created by local guest chefs like PK and Wiley Frank of Little Uncle, Rachel Yang and Seif Chirchi of Trove, Joule, and Revel, Scott Emerick of Seven Beef, and more. Tickets the multi-coursed, family-style dinner are $125.
