It's here: Opening Ceremonies Day for the Summer Olympics (otherwise known as Bob Costas Justifies His Existence to the World Day)! The London Games kicks off tonight (on tape delay) with pomp, circumstance, and possibly the Spice Girls, and events continue through August 12. Here's where to watch and chant "U.S.A! U.S.A.!":

95 Slide
Capitol Hill's newest sports bar, open only a month, takes a break from memorializing Ken Griffey, Jr. (and his 1995 slide) to hold an Opening Ceremonies party tonight at 7pm. The joint has 20 55-inch TVs and more control-your-own screens in booths. Though as yet unspecified, the bar plans to promote drink and food specials for major Olympic events, like the basketball finals.

Market Arms and George and Dragon
There's no better place to watch the London festivites than Seattle's sister British pubs in Ballard and Fremont. Both will be showing coverage of the games, but, more importantly, they serve English grub like fish and chips, shephard pie, and bangers and mash. On tap are Boddington's and Strongbow Cider. They're major football joints—the real football—so both watering holes are ideal for the endless series of soccer matches.

Neighbor Lady
Most sports bars plan to show the medal races on TV; spots like Fox Sports Grill, Buckley's, and Fado  Irish Pub and Restaurant will all have an embarassment of flat-screens. The Neighbor Lady only has one TV, but the new bar is bringing the sports experience—and a veggie-minded menu—to the Central District, a neighborhood less flush in sports bars. And they do it with damask wallpaper and frilly lampshades, no less.

Spit Fire
Belltown's sauciest sports bar broadcasts athletic and reality TV events, and the Olympics are a perfect hybrid of the two. Tonight's kickoff party starts at 7pm and features oh-so-American drink specials: a five-bottle bucket of Highlife for $12, and Coors Light and Blue Moon for $3 each. Plus, they'll give away a grill and a beer cooler in a raffle drawing. An August 12 closing ceremony party and various mid-Games nights will have similar specials.

Sport Restaurant and Bar
As if medal-winning physical feats weren't exciting enough, this Lower Queen Anne joint is hyping a Team USA cocktail that consists of raspberry vodka, fresh sour mix, grenadine, and blue curacao. A dollar from each $6 drink goes to support the Special Olympics. Elsewhere on the Olympics menu is the Race for the Gold (a mix of mandarin vodka and Red Bull) and Dream Team Passion (raspberry vodka, strawberry puree, and champagne). Good luck remembering the words to our national anthem.
