Happy Hour

Happy Hour at Emmer and Rye Coming Monday, February 8

Here’s the deal on the deals.

February 4, 2010

UPDATE: HH at Emmer and Rye begins this Monday, February 8. Look out for a late-night happy hour starting in a few weeks.

Okay, I have been posting about Emmer and Rye like crazy but I have to share this one last thing because I’ve been bugging chef/owner Seth Caswell for months to tell me what kind of happy hour he’ll have. If you ever hit up happy hour at Stumbling Goat when Caswell was the chef over there, you know why I’m excited. It was one of the city’s best.

Here’s what we can expect at Emmer: the prices and some details are yet to be determined but Caswell says the happy hour will go from 4 to 6pm daily, and there will be a cocktail special and discounts on beer and wine.

The foods special works like this: you get the appetizer-sized (larger) portion from the menu’s small dishes for the tasting-size (smaller) price. Does that makes sense? Let’s say you order the steamed mussels. After 6pm, those cost $6 for a little tasting plate, $10 for a big appetizer portion. But at happy hour, you get the large appetizer portion for $6. Got that?

Caswell tells me there will also be a special HH macaroni and cheese and—check this out—a houseground burger. Remember those wagyu sliders at the Goat? This is exciting.

Emmer and Rye starts serving breakfast this weekend, happy hour shouldn’t be far behind.
