Weekend Wine Events: Concerts at Chateau Ste Michelle Winery and Kirkland Uncorked

Good luck booking a babysitter this weekend: the hills of Woodinville will be alive with the sound of contemporary/classic rock at Chateau Ste Michelle, where Tears for Fears is scheduled to hit the stage at 7pm on Friday, July 9th.
On Saturday the 11th holycrapthey’restillkickingaround? Steve Miller Band will play. At $40, general admission seats for Tears for Fears are $9 less than the Steve Miller tickets. Draw your own conclusions.
This weekend also brings us Kirkland Uncorked, the eastside hamlet’s annual tasting event held along its very gorgeous waterfront. (Tickets are $20 advance, $25 at the door. Event runs from Fri, Jul 17 5-10pm; Sat July 18 1-10pm; Sun, July 19 1-6 pm.)
If you’re the type of person who prefers KPLU (and all its jazz) over KUOW, you’ll enjoy live acts such as Big Bad Groove Society and the Jay Thomas Quartet. For those of us who are allergic to jazz, there are cooking demos: by the delightful Bobby Moore of Barking Frog, by Seth Caswell (can’t wait for Emmer and Rye), and by Brian Scheehser of Trellis, among others. A bunch of participating restaurants will dole out treats for you to soak up all the sipping.
Here’s a list of the wineries that will be there.
