This week, I’m singling out the happy hour at the Seattle bar most likely to get the Miami Vice theme stuck in my head: BOKA Kitchen and Bar. From the leather wraparound booths to the showy, mood-altering LED lights and silly cocktails, there’s something about the Hotel 1000’s bar that is So.Not.Seattle.

But that’s the fun of it: On a rain-soaked weeknight in the dead of winter, BOKA can kind of transport you. Plus, the food isn’t half bad.

Happy hour runs from 3 to CLOSE on Monday; Tuesday through Friday it’s from 3-6 and then 10 to midnight. The entire bar menu is 1/2 off (mussels and fries for $8? Try and beat it). Draft beers are $4—not so much of a deal but remember, we are in a hotel here—house wine and rail cocktails will cost you $4.50.
