It’s March madness, and not of the basketball variety. While Dine Around Seattle and Washington Wine month enliven March with food deals and wine revelry, three new happy hours are gracing Seattle next month.

Bitter/Raw
John Sundstrom’s amaro-and-crudo-centric bar lofted above his relocated Lark—that can practically high-five Renee Erickson’s future digs—started a weekday happy hour March 2. Monday through Friday from 4 until 6, there will be a charcuterie selection for $5 and an assortment of snacks for $2.

Single Shot
A few weeks ago, this impressive new bar added a late-night menu. It runs from 10 until midnight seven days a week, and dishes like duck confit flatbread, chocolate chip–Chartreuse ice cream, or chef James Sherrill's fancy pub cheese, generally $2 or $3 off the regular price.

Volterra
This cozy Italian restaurant in Ballard is introducing a happy hour and, you guys, it’s ample. Volterra’s previous—and pretty standard—happy hour was 3pm to 6pm, but now sip on $5 cocktails, $4 drafts, and, of course, wine by-the-glass for $5 all day long. Yes, from noon until 6pm try creations like the limoncello rosemary drop as well as some wild boar sliders for sustenance ($8). And few things are more Italian than a leisurely, midday meal: Volterra is also adding a weekday lunch service with an impressive selection of dishes.

Pike Street Fish Fry
Back from a freakin’ year-long hiatus is Free Fry Fridays at the Fish Fry. Yes, you read those alliterative acrobatics correctly. Beginning March 6, on the first Friday of each month you snag an order of free fries with a beverage purchase. Other food and drink specials with be available, too, such as $2 off drafts and bottles and $3 off wells.
