On August 7th, over 12,000 attendees, 75 neighborhood businesses and 40 volunteers celebrated the 11th annual South Lake Union Block Party. Highlights included a giant slide, the Man vs. Machine-themed Steamroller Smackdown where DEI Creative’s “Fulfillment Center” was crowned the winner, and the 5th Annual South Lake Union Best Burger Competition. The burger brawl, presented by Vulcan and Whole Foods Market, welcomed over 500 guests and five competing restaurants. The winning sliders were Brave Horse Tavern’s “Summer Slider” (Judges’ Choice) and the Lobby Bar at the Pan Pacific’s “I Don’t Give a Duck” (People’s Choice). Over $23,000 was raised to support this year’s nonprofit partners, Low Income Housing Institute and South Lake Union Chamber of Commerce.
