On January 22, the Seattle Sports Commission celebrated Seattle’s year in sports at the 79th Annual MTR Western Sports Star of the Year awards show. For one night each year, athletes, facilitators, and supporters of Seattle athletics come to enjoy an evening of red carpet walking, photo taking, athlete shoulder-rubbing and award receiving entertainment. The big winners of the evening were Eastlake Little League for Sports Story of the Year, Krista Vansant for Female Sports Star of the Year, and Russell Wilson for Male Sports Star of the Year.
