Goodwill's Breakup4good Earth Day Campaign
Goodwill Seattle is giving you a three-fer opportunity to pay it forward, freshen up your closet, and take care of the environment this month. The nonprofit's Breakup4good Earth Day campaign brings together over 60 community members and organizations, asking them to say farewell to a once-loved outfit.
Restaurateur Linda Derschang, performer/songwriter/activist Hollis Wong-Wear, mayor Ed Murray, stylist Darcy Camden, and even I all handed over some attire to support the cause.

Last year alone, the local branch of Goodwill kept 40 million pounds of materials out of landfills, all of which went on to support job training programs for those in need. You can help match that in 2015 by breaking up with your own spring-cleaning throwaways.
And as a reward, Goodwill is giving away two prizes every day through Friday, May 1. You can win Sounders FC tickets, Kari Gran skin care, JJ Caprices jewelry, restaurant gift cards, and more. The grand prize, announced on May 1, includes a Washington State Parks Discover Pass, a gift card from Seattle Met best restaurant Loulay, a dozen cupcakes from Cupcake Royale, and much more.
To win, keep up Goodwill's Facebook page where contests will be posted throughout the day.
And finally, to wrap up the eco celebrations, Goodwill paired with KEXP for a fundraising concert on Wednesday, April 29 at the Tractor Tavern in Ballard, featuring the Moondoggies, Deep Sea Diver, and Shelby Earl. Tickets to the 21-plus show are $15 and available from TicketWeb now.
