Say what you will about Valentine's Day, love is in the air this month. And for a passionate pout on par with February's fiery mood, we say go red.

Our lipstick pick? Benecos's natural lip color in dark red.

The sultry shade has a hint of gold shimmer, and though it's called "dark red" we found it to be more of a flattering ruby hue than an intimidating burgundy. It's not the longest lasting lip color we've ever tried, but it is extra moisturizing: Organic jojoba, sunflower, and vitamin E oils keep lips soft and hydrated—naturally.

We especially love the Benecos commitment to cruelty-free products. The brand's entire line is formulated without animal testing and, in case you ever find yourself stranded on a desert island with nothing but your lipstick, every product is vegan (and technically edible).

Local beauty brand Love True Natural distributes the German-made Benecos—along with a number of other all-natural cosmetics and skin care products—from its Kirkland headquarters. For those of you just getting started in the natural beauty game, Love True Natural's beauty box program sends you three personalized, full-sized natural products each month.

Pick up February's kissable color from Love True Natural online, or find it in local Whole Foods and PCC stores for $20.
