Introducing 'The Look'

Tune in to Evening Magazine's designer reality show to see which ten local designers are in, and which ones are out.

Looks like Seattle is getting its own Project Runway. Well, sort of. Unlike Top Chef: Seattle, we'll be treated to a locally made version of the hit fashion program produced by KING5 and Evening Magazine. The Look is a new designer reality show that pits 10 local talents against each other in design challenges.

Each week the designers have 14 hours to complete a given challenge. They will run frantically around fabric stores, consult with mentor Rose Dennis, and fit a TCM model to walk the runway. Sound familiar? At the end of each challenge, two designers will be sent "home"—but since they all live in town I'm guessing they won't have to travel too far. The three finalists will present a five-piece collection during the show's finale on February 25.

The winner will be awarded a prize package worth $10,000, editorial coverage in 425 Magazine, and an opportunity to showcase their final collection at Neiman Marcus in Bellevue.

Contestants include Justin Zachary Bartle, Gingerlyn Bellus, Sonia Chehade, Maxwell Cunanan, Julie Danforth, Lisa Hunter, Iris Klein, Monica Kitchen, Deyonte' Weather, and Tina Witherspoon.

The show will air February 18 through 25 at 7:00 each night. We'll be tuned in to all the drama (there's got to be drama) and the make it works. Watch along with us and look for our recaps on Shop Talk.
