Myles Kahn, founder and CEO of Buddy’s Pot Shop and Buddy’s Goodies & Glass has an impressive musical pedigree. Both his father and grandfather are notable musicians and Myles himself has been intimately involved in the music industry in various capacities. Myles has had the opportunity to meet and work with music legends such as Tupac, Carlos Santana, Stevie Wonder, and many others. In fact, Buddy’s is named after his grandfather, Buddy Harlowe. Buddy was the bandleader The Latin Quarter — one of New York City’s iconic nightclubs dating back to prohibition.
Myles ensures that Buddy’s pays homage to this lineage through its mission to celebrate the historical nexus between music and cannabis. Buddy’s has a classic prohibition era Art Deco vibe. Instruments are hung around the shop, and not just as decoration. It is common for a customer or one of Buddy’s expert budtenders to take down a guitar and play a few songs. In recognition of this, Buddy’s won the Dope Industry Award for Best Retail Store Atmosphere.
Myles has worn many hats throughout his career. He has achieved success as an attorney, sports agent, and start-up investor; but Myles has become the face of cannabis through his creation of an award-winning local cannabis and music landmark, Buddy’s.
