The American Cancer Society saves lives in Seattle by providing free rides to cancer treatment, free lodging, patient navigation, and access to clinical trials.

Now, the Society has set its sights on colon cancer. Why? It is the second leading cause of cancer death in the US, but one of the most preventable cancers. 80% by 2018 is a nationwide initiative to eliminate colon cancer. The goal is to get 80% of adults 50 and older regularly screened for colon cancer by 2018—this would save 200,000 lives a year.
