Housing Affordability and Livability Agenda Community Open House

In response to the growing concern over a lack of affordable housing in Seattle, Mayor Murray has set up a Housing Affordability and Livability Advisory Committee to identify and evaluate policy options. PubliCola recently published one possible solution to the affordable housing problem, but we aren't elected to make those sort of high level decisions, so...

The HALA is scheduled to host a series of open houses, where the community is invited to take part in discussions around the affordable housing issues. Wednesday focuses on South Seattle.

The Raising of America: Early Childhood and the Future of Our Nation

This spring, PBS is set to air The Raising of America: Early Childhood and the Future of Our Nation a California Newsreel documentary about the importance of investing in early childhood education and development.

But you can see it early, with the added bonus of a post-screening discussion featuring King County Executive Dow Constantine, early learning advocates and educators. If you still need selling, there will also be light refreshments.
