1. Erica was on the radio (pre-Morning Fizz) this AM, talking to KUOW about the story she had late yesterday afternoon. In case you missed it: The security cameras on the King County Metro buses where this week's terrifying shootings took place, weren't working.

2. And Erica'll be on KUOW again later today—around 12:30— talking about the bikesharing program that the council looked at this week.

 3. Wendy Davis, the Texas state representative whose marathon filibuster temporarily killed a (likely unconstitutional) law banning all abortions after 20 weeks, was in Seattle last night, speaking at a fundraiser for NARAL Pro-Choice Washington. 

Unfortunately, Fizz (Erica) wasn't able to go. Why? Davis explicitly told NARAL that no media were allowed at the event, going so far as to require the pro-choice group to sign an official memorandum of understanding with Davis. 

And, psst, Fizz has already maxed out to NARAL this year anyway.

On average, the study estimates that the arena would generate around 2,150 vehicle trips per day during the afternoon rush hour. 4. Although Sonics supporters failed to convince the Sacramento Kings to pull up stakes and move to a new SoDo arena, the environmental review continues apace; yesterday, the city released an environmental impact statement that narrowed the feasible sites for a new arena down from five to three—one in SoDo, one at Memorial Stadium adjacent to Seattle Center, and one at the Center itself, on the site of the current KeyArena.

We confess that we haven't yet read the entire EIS, which is nearly 450 pages and doesn't include an executive summary (thanks, city!), but we gather from the summary tables that the proponents' preferred alternative, a 20,000-seat arena on land owned by San Francisco hedge-fund manager Chris Hansen, would add about 800 passengers a day to buses, about 1,000 riders to light rail, and between 1,290 and 4,015 vehicle trips a day on various streets around the arena.

On average, the study estimates that the arena would generate around 2,150 vehicle trips per day during the afternoon rush hour. Freight travel times in the corridor would also increase.
