The PubliCalendar is in a charitable mood this weekend. We also happen to like drinks and ice cream.

Friday night, first:

Cocktails for a Cause to benefit Planned Parenthood: Tonight, at the BalMar Cocktail Lounge in Ballard, $10 will buy happy hour prices for drinks all evening long, which will in turn go towards Planned Parenthood's People in Need Fund. The fund "assists those who do not qualify for federal aid or would otherwise be unable to access basic, preventative reproductive health care services."

The event is hosted by Planned Parenthood Young Professionals group.

Cocktails for a Cause will go from 7:00 to 11:30 PM at the BalMar Cocktail Lounge (5449 Ave NW).

Full details here.

On to Saturday:

Saturday Scoopfest to benefit the Rainier Valley Food Bank: Tomorrow afternoon, ice cream will go for $2 by the scoop in a benefit that will also feature entertainment by local DJS and circus acts such as jugglers, acrobats, and fire spinners.  Snoqualmie Ice Cream, Blue Bird, and Full Tilt are serving up the ice cream.

Saturday Scoopfest will be from 1 to 4 PM at Full Tilt (5041 Rainier Ave S).
