Not much going on here.

"Are You? Can You? Were You? (Felt)," the third track on Black Up, starts out with a nice lush R&B wash of synths, some hang out bass, and an ascending piano figure. But it quickly leaves all that behind for a bland rap that marches in square time to a boxy piano line that refuses to lift off.

I can't figure out why this song made the cut. But I have enough musical faith in Ishmael Butler on this whole thing that I'm not willing to dismiss it yet. As the chorus here has it, "It's a feeling/it's a feeling/it's a feeling/it's a ... feeling."
