It wasn't this afternoon's big budget protests that jolted the capitol today; what had Olympia lobbyists talking was the presence of actor Rob Estes---best known for his appearances on the TV shows Silk Stalkings, Melrose Place, and 90210---in the Capitol cafeteria. Although it was unclear what brought Estes, a Seattle resident who hails from Norfolk, VA, to the Capitol (female lobbyists contacted by PubliCola were too shy to go up and talk to him), the obvious speculation was that he was in Olympia to protest the budget cuts---along with several thousand other Washington State residents.
