SeattleCrime.com has the scoop that Seattle Police Department plans to fire officer Shandy Cobane, who was caught on camera threatening to "beat the Mexican piss out of" a Latino suspect who was lying on the ground at the time.

Based on information from multiple sources within the police department, SeattleCrime reports:

Cobane, then a member of the Gang Unit, and several other officers stopped two men suspected in a robbery outside of the China Harbor.

Officers ordered the men to lay face down on the pavement, where Cobane threatened to "beat the Mexican piss" out of one of the men.

The two men were later released.

The incident was caught on tape by a videographer.

Following the release of the tape, Cobane issued a tearful apology at police headquarters, and was administratively reassigned to the North Precinct, where he worked behind the scenes, assisting in several investigations.
