Jolt
Afternoon Jolt: Online News Sites. Ouch.
1. Today's Loser: Us
In a recent poll asking Washington State residents which news outlets they trust, online news sites came in second-to-last. According to the KCTS 9/KPLU/Washington Poll, only 46 percent of Washington voters think Internet news sites are trustworthy, honest and accurate.
We're just above talk radio (40 percent trust it) and, ouch, right below FoxNews—48 percent trust Fox.
Consolation: Online news ties newspapers for third place, with 18 percent saying they get their news from both.
2. Today's winner is, sadly, TV news.
People trust local TV news the most, with 68 percent saying they think it's fair and accurate. That trumps NPR, which only 54 percent say they trust.
We're not sure if we trust these numbers.
