Jolt
Afternoon Jolt
Double jolt. Two losers today.
Today's First losers: The Washington State Democrats
The Democrats went for a gotcha on Dino Rossi today.
GOP U.S. senators John Cornyn (R-TX) and John Thune (R-SD) are holding a fundraiser for Rossi back in D.C.
Ah ha! The Dems gleefully pointed out that Rossi's benefactors Cornyn and Thune had voted 'Yes' on the infamous bank bailout in October 2008—the $700 billion bill that Rossi has been harshly criticizing Sen. Patty Murray for supporting.
Here's the thing, though. Cornyn and Thune redeemed themselves, voting against TARP (Troubled Asset Relief Fund) in January when the second installment of the bailout money was released in January 2009.
Pshaw, you say? These guys were just making a political makeup call. Maybe.
But given the same opportunity to revise her voting record and shoot down TARP when Cornyn and Thune did, Murray greenlighted the spending.
Today's Second losers: Loyal Viewers of the Following Local Access TV Programs:
Midnite Mausoleum
Starborn
Truth vs. NEW$, Inc.
Truth of Falun Dafa
The Hereafter TV
Gays for Jesus
Zombie Etiquette
That's right: SCAN TV, Seattle's public access television network, found out this week that all of their funding is being eliminated. That means no more "Goddess Kring," 1:30 AM on Tuesday mornings.
Local access television is a cool public service and it sucks the city can't pay for it anymore. Where else will we be able to learn "The Truth About Denominationalism"? (apparently, there's a lot of truth to be told on public access TV). Where else will we hear "The Psychics Speak"?
Still, I can't say I was ever racing home on my bicycle to catch the latest episode of "Farrakhan Speaks."
