Afternoon Fizz. Version O
1. Nancy Reagan is meeting with Michelle Obama for lunch tomorrow
. Delightful! Why is it that Michelle keeps getting the shit bag for the O-administration? Obama had a little mini gaffe when he did NOT invite Nancy Reagan to the overturning of the stem-cell rules of the Bush Administration—an issue Mrs. Reagan has worked hard on over the years. She was quick to point out that little tidbit in an upcoming Vanity Fair article and add in what she thought of that oversight (Spoiler Alert: she's still sassy after all these years). Have fun with that make up lunch, Michelle!
2. The Technology/Social Media President is slacking on his Tweets. Behold...we are about 5 days behind in Obama tweets.

3. The Democrats just had their chances for one more House seat increased by Obama's recent nomination of Republican John M McHugh to Army Secretary in a moderate-to-swing NY district. Hey, I am all for increasing the Democratic majorities, but does the DCCC really need to have one more knockdown/drag out special election (Hi Rep Scott Murphy!) to draw down its funds further going into mid terms? I don't know, but it seems Obama could maybe pull back on the Democrats and Republicans in swing states/jurisdictions (Tebelius, Napolitano come to mind) and focus instead on a few 'no chance in hell' seats— like, stick with Utah!
4. Obama is taking a trip to, not New York for a Broadway show (thankfully) , but rather the Hill. Topic: health care. A pre-emptive measure in what will likely become the Baucus/rest-of-party showdown on health care, perhaps? You decide. It comes on the heels of the White House Council of Economic Advisors (CED) new report: "The Economic Case for Health Care Reform." Kudos to you if you read it all the way through. I was fed too much sugar as a child and don't have that sort of attention span. So I opted for the Yahoo! News (Yahoo News? WTF!) op-ed from the Chair of the CED.
