PubliCola Adds Life. Week #2

By Josh Feit January 30, 2009

Another busy week. Thanks for drinking the cola.

EDITORIAL SUNDAY:

We began the week by linking to PubliCola "Blog-Rola" star Hugeasscity for his anti-tunnel editorial.

FEMTOCELL MONDAY:

There's a defining battle brewing in Olympia about density.

Chris Kissel files from D.C. about Sen. Patty Murray's $6.4 billion stimulus package score.

Another confirmation and another denial about Ron Sims and HUD.

TechNerd on Verizon's femtocell strategy.

JOEL CONNELLY TUESDAY

PubliCola gets its first Joel Connelly comment. Bitchy.

Meanwhile, we were busy posting about Larry Phillips, the state budget, local lawyers, NARAL, Inslee,  and Obama.

And FoodNerd joined us to talk about her lovingly besmirched cookbooks.

STIMULUS WEDNESDAY

In D.C., U.S. Rep. Dave Reichert says no to the stimulus package.

In Olympia, Seattle housing activist John Fox drives State Rep. Geoff Simpson crazy.

And FilmNerd makes her debut

THURSDAY

PubliCola takes a look at State Rep. Dave Upthegrove's 158-page global warming bill and at State Senator Pam Roach's emails.

We also report that the state legislature is queuing up bills to amend the voter-approved renewable energy measure, I-937. Rep. Deb Eddy has a lot to say about that in the comments thread.

MusicNerd listens to Webelos.

JOHN CUSACK FRIDAY

PubliCola gets all gossipy about Hollywood stars ... and the daughters of local public figures.

We've got bad news from Olympia for King County Metro fans and bad news from DC for local bike fans.

Our "OMG!Obama" column lays out O's strategy to decimate the GOP.

Sandeep has and update and another update (lots going on) about business at the Seattle Times.

NerdNerd suffers a minor catastrophe:

The irony of fixing broken glasses, of course, is that you must fix them while blind. Superglue and the visually impaired have never been great friends, and the relationship suffered another blow when I put my glasses on to test their strength and discovered that the fix-em-up plan had sort of worked but, sadly, my glasses were now adhered directly to my face.

And speaking of nerds (in a good way), sing along: "Michael Rennie was ill the day the earth stood still..."
