Wondering what will become of the former Borders location near 4th and Pike? Per a press release today, the giant 12,600-square-foot space is destined for new life as the first Seattle location for the Yard House chain (not to be confused with Greenwood beer bar The Yard).

The restaurant specializes in classic rock, modern art collections, and a vast menu of just about every pasta, burger, noodle, and seafood dish under the sun. Oh, and beer. The release promised 130 beers on draft, with taps marching around the bar and kegs stored in a “glass-enclosed keg room.” Sports on flat screens? Yes indeedy.

The Seattle Yard House will open in early 2013.
