Open/Opening

Mean Sandwiches
Eater Seattle says this excellently named sandwich outpost from a pair of David Chang alums (who also ran a well-known restaurant, Thirty Acres, in Jersey City) should open any day now. This little spot in Ballard will be all about hot griddled sandwiches, and make bread pudding from day-old sandwich loaves.

China Pie
Pomerol chef Vuong Loc's unholy alliance of pizza and dumplings is here. The menu for his Fremont restaurant includes traditional wood-fired pizzas and ones topped with foie, quail egg, and hoisin.

Circadia
It's lush, it's plush, it's unabashedly fine dining. This elegant new spot is open at Sixth and Olive, with Garrett Melkonian in the kitchen.

L'Oursin

This house of nouvelle Northwest cuisine and natural wine sounds like straight-up heaven. And it's now open on East Jefferson.

Expansion Mode

Katsu Burger
Huzzah. Capitol Hill Seattle blog says these towering Japanese-inspired burger behemoths will take over the 12th Ave address previously home to the Old Sage.

Tacos Chukis
Double huzzah. The second location of this marvelous Capitol Hill taqueria is now open at 810 Dexter Ave N.

Coming Soon

Nirmal's
From Seattle Times via Eater Seattle: The lovely Indian restaurant in Pioneer Square will open an Indian pub in the former Paddy Coyne's location in (of course) South Lake Union.

Bar  Charlie
A seaplane-themed bar? Intriguing.

Closing

Tini Bigs and Hula Hula
Eater Seattle says the long-impending closure of these two classic bars is nigh. New Year's Eve will be their last night in business. Say goodbye on December 7.
