Oasis Tea Zone
The Capitol Hill location is finally open, according to Capitol Hill Seattle. Located close to Seattle Central, the bubble tea and smoothie spot (with a funky spaceman mural on the wall) with will expand to Asian-inspired desserts and loose teas in the future.
A new poke shop is set to open in summer this year in the International District, courtesy of three brothers who grew up in a family fishing business in Hawaii. Eater Seattle says dishes will include poke bowls topped with seaweed salad, crab salad, sunomono, and more, as well as some more creative menu items such as "pokérritos". Also on the menu will be the ever-popular Hawaiian shaved ice, plus pineapple Dole Whip.
The chef de cuisine at Pioneer Square's popular Damn the Weather bar is stepping down, reports Eater Seattle. Dahlin's last day there will be June 24, and his position will be succeeded by Brian Papenfuss (from Stateside).
The cafe and bar will now be serving brunch every day through summer to Labor Day. On the menu are chicken and waffles with maple pepper jelly, falafel with spiced goat yogurt, pork belly chop salad and more. Hours are 9am-3pm, after which happy hour and dinner service will take over.
The pizza chainlet's Admiral location will begin brunch hours in the weekend, per West Seattle Blog. Previously dinner only, you can now head over for some wood-fired pizza and brunch fare starting 10am.
Nutty Squirrel Gelato
The popular gelato spot will be opening an outpost in Capitol Hill, reports Capitol Hill Seattle. It will be at Eat Local on Broadway Ave this Friday–see if you can snag their World Gelato Tour competition flavor with black sesame, Belgian dark chocolate, and a pomegranate reduction.
